Tony winner Marissa Jaret Winokur has signed on for the Los Angeles cast of Love, Loss and What I Wore alongside Meredith Baxter and Gina Torres. The women will begin performances on August 4 at the Geffen Playhouse and stay with the production through August 29.
Winokur won a Tony Award for playing Tracy Turnblad in the hit musical Hairspray. She has since appeared on TV's Dancing With The Stars and Dance Your Ass Off. Baxter is best known for her seven-year stint as TV mom Elsye Keaton on Family Ties. Torres' many TV credits include Hung, 24 and Firefly.
The current Los Angeles cast features Kathryne Dora Brown, original off-Broadway star Tyne Daly, Bonnie Franklin, Glenne Headly and Amy Pietz. Jenny Sullivan directs the West Coast company of Love, Loss and What I Wore which opened off-Broadway at the Westside Theatre in October 2009 before launching a Los Angeles production on May 13, 2010.
